The 2021–22 National Budget was brought down on 1 June 2021 by the Hon. Martin Hunt MP, Minister for Finance, under the theme “Building a Resilient Naoero” — responding to the continuing uncertain economic outlook driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of the Regional Processing Centre (RPC). The budget recognised expected revenue of AUD $244.1 million and expenditure of AUD $244.0 million, with a $100,000 surplus balance.
