Overview
Treasury’s Economics & Budget function is responsible for fiscal strategy, and for timely and effective budget preparation and execution — from the annual national budget through to in-year monitoring against it. This is one of Treasury’s four core objectives, alongside quality financial information and control, expenditure efficiency, and capability building.
Each fiscal year’s budget — the estimates of revenue and expenditure, the appropriation bill, the budget speech, and any supplementary appropriations — is published as it is tabled and passed by Parliament.
