Development Fund

Overview

The Development Fund is Nauru’s mechanism for channelling and reporting on official development assistance (ODA) and the donor-funded development budget. It is managed by the Planning and Aid Division (PAD), which acts as custodian of the Fund and primary coordinator of ODA to Nauru.

The Development Fund Act 2011 provides the statutory basis for the Fund. It establishes the Fund to facilitate the funding of development projects and sets out requirements for withdrawals, annual projections, annual reporting and mid-financial year reporting.

The current fiscal year’s projections are below, followed by the full archive of past Development Fund projections, annual and half-year reports, and related policy documents.

Policy and Strategy

Donor activities on Nauru are regulated by a Donor Policy. This document helps donors understand their obligations and operating context, helping to foster mutually beneficial donor programs. The policy has been approved by the Nauru Sustainable Development Strategy Committee, and is managed by the Planning and Aid Division.

The Nauru Integrated Infrastructure Strategic Plan (NIISP) outlines key projects requiring investment support, as at the time of the review. Any infrastructure requiring donor funding is shared with donors by the Planning and Aid Division.
