On 29 August 2025, Hon. David Ranibok Adeang MP, Minister for Finance, released the 2025–26 Budget. The budget assumed total revenue of AUD $358.59 million, with total expenditure carefully managed at AUD $358.56 million — a balanced budget reflecting the Government’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and sustainable financial management.
The budget papers cover detailed information on:
- Economic outlook and underlying assumptions
- Revenue projections and sources
- Expenditure allocations across various sectors (e.g. health, education, infrastructure)
- Key policy initiatives and their financial implications
As in the previous financial year, a Supply Budget was in place to give the Government time to finalise key negotiations determining the main appropriation. The period from 1 July 2025 to 31 July 2025 was covered by a Supply Act, which authorised expenditures from the Treasury Fund for a maximum of three months. Expenditures made under the authority of the Supply Act were charged against the full-year Appropriation Act.
